If romney had not gone to the dark side during the campaign and followed his dads more liberal view as well as his experience in MA, he might have been a more attractive candidate. I first supported Obama when mccain failed to recognize the gravity of the economic situation. I just as easily could have supported a republican who understood the problem and offered a more moderate approach. Romney made his own bed by concluding the rt wing base was the only way to go. He might have right about that given the Rush bs. My point is that for a republican to succeed nationally, he/she has to be centrist and not wingnut to attract indy votes at this time or any time in the near future.
