How could he lose if the republican majorities in the house and senate supported him? Even a filibuster would have failed the democrats.

Honestly, the "Bush tried but failed" argument has been tried in a number of areas lately. If the republicans rejected Bush's efforts, that, too, goes to the heart of the problem with the republican party...and perhaps not Mr. Bush.

(Maybe he should have pushed them around a bit more).

Romney buzz

I talked to New York Rep. Pete King yesterday about the state of the Republican Party, and its future leaders, and he said that in his view the situation had "stabilized."

"We’re in too much of an instant gratification cycle – leaders will emerge," he said. "I’m hearing more people saying they’re taking another look at Romney."

Not sure about that, I remember him saying that more minorities needed to be in houses. I have no problem with that sentiment as long as they can afford them and we don't have to bail them out when they can't pay!
