Agreed. I think there is a huge niche of people who will buy electric cars, even if they only get 50-100 miles per charge. I'll always want a longer range car for going driving around the country, but 99% of my time in a car is spend driving less than 50 miles per day. If I could trade in my current ICE car for an electric that goes highway speeds, gets 50+ miles per charge, and costs between $20-30K, I'd do it in a heartbeat, even if there weren't a $7,500 cost reduction from Obama's tax credit. That credit would make it a better deal than an ICE engine.
