So when the market goes up again, all the reps will be saying that is Obama too :-) Right?

Sam,

In addition to saying that part of the problem may be Obama's plan and/or his teams ability to communicate the plan effectively, it also seems that they are saying that the market was overly optimistic that Obama was going to come in with a magic bullet and that was propping the market up the last months of the Bush presidency. When the market is now realizing that there is no magic bullet or rabbit to pull out of the hat, the valuations are falling to what they should have been.

While I think that may play some role in what is happening, I will stick with my feelings that it is just more bad economic news that has come down the pike. It is something that, at least to me, seems real and tangible.

Neal

<<<At least on Wall Street, the honeymoon is over for President Barack Obama.>>>

Wall Street trades on rumors, reading tea leaves, and predictions of where the economy is going based on all the economic data that is available.

At the end of the day it is efficient. But to attribute the movement of the stock market purely on the basis of Obama policies being rolled out is for two reasons.

1. a lack of understanding of how the market works, or
2. a willful deception to try to fool the people and make an attempt to put the market in termoil hoping to sink the Obama administration. or
3. Both the above.
