They will give up fiat money (and it's easy expansion) only when it is torn from their cold, dead hands.

Wrong analogy! More likely, "They will give up fiat money only when wallets are the size of wheelbarrows." Or "They will give up fiat money only when they have more dollars than trees have leaves."

I know, lets have a contest! Winning analogy gets a fistful of fiat (post analogy coming true).
