Port St. Lucie was incorporated in 1961. Since there were busts along the way the cost of paved streets may or may not have been reflected in the lot price at any given time. Originally they didn't have sewer but I had a friend who hooked up the sewers later on. The land is not swampland.
Locally Port St. Lucie is know as Port St Lousy.

During the recent boom some upscale developments were built. One, Ginn's Tesoro, featured multimillion dollar homes. Guess what...bankrupt.
