I would say, it was the "wrong kind" of stimulation more than "too much" of it. Building houses is a good thing--as long as it isn't overbuilding based on absurd valuations relative to income and overall wealth. And of course, unrealistically low interest rates.

Wrong kind? Assuming you are not a socialist, what kind of stimulus do you want to see from government - in normal times? I stick with my statement; it was too much stimulus and if hadn't gone into housing it (money/stimulus) would have found a home some other place.
