OF COURSE GS is targeted by naked short sellers. ALL OF THE BANKS are being targeted via shorting, synthetic shorting, and buying CDS contracts against their debt/assets.

The pendulum has severely swung to the downside and there's just no reason to buy when you know that you can't fight the manipulation and negative sentiment.

No one has a reason to backstop this market.
