Correct for many cases. But it is a mistake to assume that dynamic is also true of altruism of individual interactions in social species, or even across species. Consider domestic cats and dogs for example. Their evolutionary history in recent times is dominated by social interaction with our species largely for companionship. Not a typical historical evolutionary trans-species interaction,

The insect world also has many examples of trans-species symbiosis which are much different than the examples you list. More akin to humans and dairy cattle. Ants & aphids for example.
