It only makes him larger in the eyes of his audience. I think the Democrats were counting on that. Because it does two things. One, it pushes the Republican party deeper into their box. Two, it makes Obama's critics look unhinged. Just look at the posts here. If you observe what is going on objectively, it is pretty obvious what is going on. But, when you listen to the dittoheads, they are spouting a totally different story.
