Conspiracy theories rarely make sense. Although, no doubt, now that you have pointed this out he can come up with some complicated scheme on how they actually did take large sums from them.

I've decided that Phillips is taking his cue from Glenn Beck. Beck is the ultimate conspiracy theorist.
