He is trying to save us from a depression.

I'm not sure that's true. I'm not sure he really thinks a depression is in the cards (his economic projections in his budget would suggest that he does not).

Even if he does think its in the cards, I don't.

And whether or not it is at all likely to happen, that doesn't mean his actions will be positive for the economy.

So there isn't any good reason to support him. Whether or not he believes we face a possible depression, whether or not we actually do, his policies are largely negative. Whether its the difference between a slightly stronger and a slightly weaker return to growth, or a depression and a depression with massive new government debt on other negative consequences, either way Obama's plan makes it worse.

In the most general terms we are all in it together, but that doesn't mean we should all jump behind any foolish idea pushed by a president.

Save us Obama, O our Rock in fearsome times.

Obama is our shepherd, we shall not want.
Yea, though we walk through the valley of financial ruin, we will fear no evil. Your teleprompter, it comforts us.
Surely economic equality will follow us all the days of our lives and we will dwell in the House of Obama forever.

O come all ye TRUE AMERICANS, step forward and voice your support for Obama and all his works.

Every voice shall vow allegiance to his name.

Amen.
