You pay into the collective so

that when you roll out of your driveway onto the pavedstreet

I have no problem paying for things that benefit the public as a whole or under certain other limited circumstances.

I start having a problem when we systematically give a large percentage of the American public a free ride on the backs of others who are, themselves, working their asses off to do well for their own support.

Each person has to have his own view as to how much of a burden society can deal with. If our country wasn't $60 Trillion in debt already, I'd be glad to take on a bit of that responsibility. But given that my family's share of that debt is nearly a half million dollars, I don't want any more debt. If you do, you're absolutely welcome to contribute YOUR money.

Since it became apparent to me that Social Security could not be repaired, EVER (about 1982), it has been every man for himself in my view. With Medicare now combining with SS for a $50 Trillion debt burden, I just don't want any more government in my life. Period.

The legitimate functions of government are to provide for the national defense and for infrastructure, schools, and the like. It is NOT a legitimate function of government to redistribute wealth by confiscating funds of those perceived to be the "haves" and fork it over to the "have nots".

People do NOT have a "right" to health care paid for by government (taxes). They do NOT have a "right" to housing paid for by government (taxes). They do NOT have a right to food coupons to the tune of $50 Billion a year.

Krudblow has been calling for his 'mustard seeds' to bloom for the last 7,500 points down on the DOW. He's worthless both in his calls and his pronouncements...

Regards,
John
