Barack Obama may subject US troops to International Criminal Court

If he does that, he will need to recruit a new army.

Maybe Obama could get some recruits from Gitmo for the military he won't have any more.

In a joint analysis by David Scheffer (who helped set up the ICC) and John Hutson (former US Navy Judge Advocate General), the authors wrote: "If the United States were to join the ICC, one would have to accept at least the theoretical possibility that American citizens (particularly political and military leaders) could be prosecuted before the ICC on charges of committing atrocity crimes."

I have read the Rome Ruling which forms the basis for the ICC. It's not very long, and it's completely vague. The ICC prosecutor has complete discretion over what charges he can bring, whether he thinks the home country has prosecuted them adequately, and how he proceeds with the case. The ICC prosecutor also claims universal jurisdiction, not just over signatories. Scary and vague and ripe for being taken over by the world's dictatorships the same way the UN human rights councils have been.

So that would mean he is no longer Commander in Chief, right?
