The Nasdaq was 3500 when Bush was elected in Nov. 2000. By April 4 it was 1619, almost a 55% drop. If you want to do your 6-months out thing the Nasdaq was almost 4000 in May 2001.

By Sept. 24, 2001 it hit 1387, a 60% drop from election day.

Do I think Bush had anything to do with this? No.

Do I think Obama has anything to do with the current drop? No.

The business cycle doesn't care who is in the office of the President. McCain, Ron Paul, or Paris Hilton wouldn't have made a difference in the stock market if they had been elected.

People need someone to blame. I suggest a return to personal responsibility, as people have to realize most of the US population was complicit in the formation of this bubble, so we will have to collectively participate in its destruction.

When people start behaving with their money like they did in the 70's, you'll know it's over.

The DOW was 9625 on the day Obama won the election, 11/4/08. Now it's 3100 lower.

And you have never heard of a bear market rally?

That's roughly the day Paulson shut down his TIO program.

The best part is...not one kid got their face blown off as a result of O's policies yet. No arms missing, no legs mangled.

Nobody lost a father, a brother, a son, a wife, a daughter.
Nobody has been added to the roles of neglected and disabled veterans. No families have been torn apart.

Despite all the flak being delivered from O's critics, he at least hasn't been spending most of his time trying on hats at his Texas ranch. We can usually see him appearing daily, attempting to make sense of the mess he's been handed.

He's making speeches with the help of teleprompters. That's good. Because I was really getting tired of listening to the bumbling idiot before him struggle putting two syllables together or speaking coherently for longer than thirty seconds. To think, we were a few states away from having McClutch Cargo ramble on between naps for the next four years while his assistant defended us from Russian invaders.

And considering the number of public appearances O's been making while trying to prevent the collapse of the United States, I don't see how anyone would expect him to memorize the speeches, unless you are one that believes he's the second coming of Mr Christ.
