What filibuster?

Sixty votes. Don't you know anything about government?

Brumar, surely you jest?

During the Dem held Congress from 2007-8, the GOP set a new record for the number of times they filibustered. This is exactly why very little legislation was passed during those 2 years and why the American people aren't buying the bullshit fed us by Fox News that the Dems have been in power for the last 2 years. Since the GOP continues to threaten to use filibusters to block Dem legislation, the Dems have to try to win a few GOP members over on these bills they are sending through the Senate. So it's not a free ride for the Dems. Not by a long shot. Nor would we want it to be a free ride. Bipartisanship is usually what ensure we get centrist bills. I'd like to see more of it, not less.
