Heart pounding. Fists clenched. Wondering what in the world he got himself into.
It’s worse—much worse—than anything he expected, or anything he was told.
His Treasury Secretary is a joke. The “stimulus” package is a pork-laden mess. The bailouts are a bust. The government is throwing trillions of dollars at our economic problems, yet the entire financial system is still just one step from collapse.
What more can he do? Will anything be enough?
He’s losing sleep. Ben Bernanke’s losing sleep. And they’re all just hoping against hope that the credit markets will thaw… America will stop bleeding jobs… and the nightmare will stop.
But that’s not what the markets are saying
It was a very brief honeymoon for geckoObama. Americans are angry. There’s even talk on the Internet of revolution in the streets.
And the stock market, unfortunately, is echoing that despair. Is it just a retest of the November lows, or is it something worse—perhaps much worse?
