March 10 (Bloomberg) -- Brazil’s central bank may cut the main interest rate by 2 percentage points tomorrow, with lower borrowing costs benefiting consumer stocks and homebuilders, Credit Suisse Group AG said.

The consensus forecast is for a full-point reduction tomorrow, according to Bloomberg estimates. Credit Suisse also predicts Brazil’s economy will contract 1 percent this year after gross domestic product shrunk in the fourth quarter of 2008.

Credit Suisse expects consumer stocks including B2W Cia Global Do Varejo and Cia Brasileira de Distribuicao Grupo Pao de Acucar as well as homebuilders to benefit from lower borrowing costs, according to a note published today.
