<<<It doesn't prove anything, except a lot of professionals who have spent a great deal of time studying and teaching economics totally disagree with the path the Obama administration has chosen to recover the economy.>>>

Your list does not prove any thing. Your list only show there are some professionals who disagree with Obama's approach.

You are making the mistake to suggest that this list proves there is a majority or even a sizable percentage of economists that disagree.

In fact it seems to suggest just the opposite. They were only able to get 200 economists to sign the petition out of perhaps tens of thousands of people who earn a living teaching or writing about economics.

From a very crude sample (about 30 names) that I took of trying to match the names of the petitioners against your list of the top 1000 economists, I found less than 15 percent of the petitioners making the list of top economists.

<<<Ben Bernanke has been working closely with Henry Paulson for quite some time and they've had full access to the best economic data available>>>

Henry Paulson was the appointment of a very conservative president and administration. Henry Paulson was not trained as a economist. I will bet dollars to donuts that in all the time he was Treasury Secretary he had full access and received guidance from all the top conservative economists in the world.

I don't have the names in front of me but again I will bet dollars to donuts that whitehouse economic advisors to George Bush were all conservative economists.

Miachael;

It doesn't prove anything, except a lot of professionals who have spent a great deal of time studying and teaching economics totally disagree with the path the Obama administration has chosen to recover the economy

Everyone has a different idea what to do. One thing is for sure - we tried tax cuts and look what that did. So try something else; if you have the secrete by all means share it. But this constant harping by conservatives that have no suggestion is going to cost them big time I believe. There is likely no one on this thread who is more of a fiscal conservative than I am - but I am beginning to hate all republican politicians for their bitterness. Time we work together!
