I know the technical argument that the fed is not part of the government, but I think that is nonsense/ The fed is setup b act of congress and the government appoints the chairman and members of the board.

I consider them to be a government entity, for all intents and purposes. So I think my central argument that the government is primarily responsible for this mess is correct.
