You couldn't make the claim because UNT is not part of the UT system. You could, however, claim to be a Teasip if you graduated from UT El Paso.

You could claim it but it would be misleading.

If there is a difference between "Ivy League" schools and others (and there certainly is in terms of perception), it is meaningless if graduates of non-Ivy league schools can legitimately claim they graduated from Ivy-league siblings.

The same applies all the way around. Attending LSU in Shreveport is certainly not the same educational experience as attending LSU. Attending UT Arlington is certainly not the same as UT, no matter what you call it.

Attending some Cornell ag school is not the same as Cornell.

He tries so hard.

And you've got to wonder at the desperation of the wingers when they start going after which university Olbermann attended.

"Last week, it was disclosed that Keith Olbermann had been lying about his having attended Cornell, claiming he attended an "Ivy-league" university."

He attended a college that is part of the Cornell University system.

"So, if I attended the University of North Texas, I can say, "I'm a graduate of the University of Texas" when that is not, in fact, correct."

You couldn't make the claim because UNT is not part of the UT system. You could, however, claim to be a Teasip if you graduated from UT El Paso.
