Got a buy order at 30 1/8 but it did not get filled... Orginally looking to buy at 40 but decide to sit aside and wait... Will begin to accumulate at 30 and with every 5 points drop.

Congratulations to those who shorted AMAT. But it is now the LONG's turn to make some do!

Best to all... TIMMY T.

To All My Fellow Long-Term Bulls (Bears need NOT read nor respond):

Relax. "When down, relax and think; Rise up with a kick."

The Bears are the opposite of us---they invest for the short term. For the past 7 years they have only 1 great year in 1996. I am glad they still have money left to force AMAT down to levels where we can buy at bargains...They slant the News to serve their short-term purposes. Take for instance the Far East currency troubles. We know that the folks out there Inflated their currencies to be more competitive against the Japanese (whose Yen became cheaper as our Dollar appreciated) in selling their Goods abroad. We do not sell much to that area; we do buy a lot from them those cheap electronic components, like CHIPS, that we use to manufacture things such as computers, etc., to be sold here and to other parts of the world. Who will benefit but US who have the Dollar to pay for their services at cheaper prices; and THEM who will have more Jobs as companies from here and other more prosperous countries notably, Taiwan and Japan, expand their operations to take advantage of ever cheaper labor?...

The Far East is the fastest growing market for our goods; now the Bears who think short-term are saying the area will play dead for a long time. I who came from the region can only smile. The advances of my Ethnic group Ilocano (one of about 80 in the Philippines) is a good example of how people in the region survive in hard times. The Ilocanos comprise only 10% of the population but 4 out of 8 Presidents came from the group (the present President Fidel Ramos was my townmate before my town was separated from his). They are known for being Thrifty and Industrious; they scattered all over the country to escape poverty from their home provinces where they can not plant rice but tobacco. They scattered all over the world ( 2 out of 3 Filipinos abroad are Ilocanos) to work and with their Dollars supported their folks back home while foreign companies (scared of Petty politics as a form of "entertainment" of the people) abandoned the country. As a result, Tourism (Homecomings) and Remittances to the Homeland keep Dollars flowing to the country...Variations of this example are to be found in the whole region---after all, our ancestors are from Malaysia and Indonesia; Thailand , as well as Vietnam, etc. are considered first cousins.

Our expectations of the Far East including the rest of the Pacific Rim as a market for our goods is a bit delayed but will come true...

One more thing the short-minded Bears use to further their aims is about INTC's shifting operations from a slow moving market to a faster moving one. The mark of a good company is to think fast and address problems quickly as they occur. Are we glad we have such company, in AMAT?...We, Bulls should continue our Long-term view and everything will be alright...
