Very strange. That was almost precisely our experience, without the cab. We were staying fairly close to the theatre (we were on Vanderbilt which runs just west of the Grand Central Station) and the theatre was sort of northeast about four or five blocks. But because of the snow accumulation, we walked most of the distance in the middle of streets. Hardly anyone else around. And those were only walking. Certainly a magical moment. I've forgotten a helluva lot about my past but certain moments, for whatever reason, manage to hang around.
