The connection between the schools is that they have ivy growing on their walls.....

So does lots of younger schools. I had to pull ivy from my house last summer, its only 15 years old. Lots of schools have Ivy on their buildings, I think even the University of Alabama has Ivy. Still I thought they all went back to the 18th century or older, I see Cornell is the only exception.
