Obama has people scared shitless. That's precisely what the problem is here. People have stopped spending money because they're afraid of how bad the economy may get. This is what is meant by a "consumer confidence crisis".

Obama looks like the proverbial deer in the headlights, then comes out tells everyone to run for cover. This, after bashing the economy for 6-12 months during the campaign.

So, what do you expect? Even though I detest FDR's mishandling of the economy during the depression, he DID convey a since of confidence, hope, and determination, rather than a sense of urgent fear, desperation and ignorance, which is what Obama is doing.

Bin Laden couldn't have asked for a better president.
