Palin is pure American Blue-Collar. The media feeding frenzy gives an indication of how dangerous they think she is. Can you see her on Charlie Rose? She's so antithetical to the ruling elite, it's hard for me to think she'll ever get in. They felt that way about Reagan too.

Thoughts about Palin. I've recently come to the conclusion there is another factor in the strong negative emotional reaction of many to her. Part is that she's a threat due to her appeal to common rural blue-collar types. But I think she's also a threat to many because ... very simply, she is beautiful. Not just beautiful, but sexy. There are a lot of people, both men and women, who simply cannot take a beautiful sexy woman seriously. They look at her and know she has to be dumb or a bimbo or both. Its sexism pure and simple. Such factors don't count so much for men. Palin would arouse less hostility if she could do some sort of makeover to "ugly" her up. Its amazing that such feelings should be more prevalent on the left than the right, but there you are. JMO
