In Month, Mass Shootings Claim 53 Lives

AOL / Wire Services

(April 6) -- With a death toll of 53 people from seven mass shootings, this past month has proved to be particularly violent in the United States, a fact that may spur a new debate about gun control in this country.

The shootings played out from coast to coast. Twice, there were mass shootings on the same day. The motives for the rampages varied, ranging from anger over a job loss to long-simmering personal resentments. The results were the same: bloodshed and anguish, families mourning the loss of loved ones, and neighborhoods stunned by the sudden violence.
