Hardware is maturing. All that's left now is integration and specialization. Unless you think quantum computing is the wave of the future.

I agree with you regarding programming, though. The vast number of programming languages out there is just a hint of how many different ways you can digitally model something.

I've used C ever since I took the DECUS tape and ported it from RSX-M to IAS on an 11/70. But I wouldn't want to manage a large project using it. If for no other reason, there is always someone who doesn't really understand pointers leading to some hard to find bugs.
