His tax on mortgage deductions, indexing, was also insane. See how that's almost disappeared. This idiot is flaming class warfare, which also deepens the racial divide. Obama is a left-winger by background and inclination. I would call him a socialist, except real socialists have thought about the economy and I don't think he has. There are too many contradictions in his proposals. It's unclear is whether he has a serious strategy for ramming his programs through Congress, or is just naively throwing all this leftwing stuff into the budget because he's Prez now and that's what he thinks he was elected to do and he doesn't have enough experience to know what a President can't do and Pelosi is too stupid to tell him. The jury's out on that one, though my money is on the second alternative.

What is missing is recognition that despite the desperate grab for revenue the budget remains unsustainably in deficit. The truth has been absent. 1. Taxes will have to be raised on far more than the top 2% and/or 2. We will have to substantially demilitarize. When those facts are on the table - we will have a truthful president. Bob
