We just have to see. Things will get fixed gradually, and
I will be the first one to applaud for taking the right
steps. A few of those have been taken already. My optimistic
scenario remains the same - a weak recovery this year,
followed by another dump into 2011-12, when the dollar
bear ends. Then the mess will get fixed for good. Which is
why... I am bearish on gold near term.

Getting spared of a couple of "lost decades" would be very
nice at this point.

The DOW/gold ratio is a very useful guide long term, and
it is telling us this is the end of the crisis, rather
than the beginning... The secular bear market is scheduled
to end some time soon. Of course, "soon" could really mean
"years", since we are 10 years into it, and counting ...
