"We sure got a good country out of that policy. It's what I really agree with, provided we don't have left wingers here trying to include terrorists and welfare for those who come.

For what it's worth, my post in response to Mq's suggestion that we sell citizenship was just intended to annoy Mq. Maybe I did that, because he answered me.

I don't really believe we should recruit immigrants with skills and pay them to become citizens."

While one might not totally agree with Mq on the issue he sure did nail the underlying economic reality of the situation, quite succinctly. It's often useful to look at a situation with all the emotion removed to see the structure. Then add in portions of emotion as suits you. "Give me your poor.... (cue the music). Nothing wrong with that.

Citizenship has a value so a criteria should be set up for people wanting to immigrant.

If a person is extremely talented in their field of endeavor that should be one criteria. If all they have is money they should be allowed to purchase citizenship if they're ne'er-do-wells charge them more for the privilege of immigrating.

The bottom line is they should add something to the country they're immigrating to and pay taxes immediately. If they're not employed or employable they should stay home.

I would value a Canadian citizenship at $1,000,000 Euros but we let the worse riff raff and trash imaginable into this country.
