When that poem was penned we hadn't implemented the welfare state. One of the costs of socialism is that now we can't afford new people, either immigrants or natural born babies.

Socialism is inevitably anti-human.

As a descendant of illiterate Irish peasants I really don't share your sentiment.

The poorest American's won't do the jobs Mexican people think are great jobs or they're too stupid and lazy to even try.
