Good teachers put in time at home; lots of time. The public generally doesn't give them credit for that.

Its the most time consuming job.......most secondary teachers here are in bed by 9:30 PM; up by 5 AM; at school by 7; get out of school by 4-5 PM. Do homework [grading papers, etc], eat and go to bed.

At $60k, they are grossly underpaid by corporate standards. Turnover is huge......many of the best teachers don't last beyond 5 years.
