My explanation isn't as juicy.....

One thing about the DX near expiry; apparently, if you are "in" on the last trading day, the contract must be settled in the respective currencies within the basket.

If you look at the chart, you will see it selling off before mid-month in Sept.,Dec.,and now March. Last trading day for the March is Monday.

Sell the June DX......
