Sam,

I have already started a short position in AOL and sold Nov 75 puts against the position. Now I wish I had not sold the puts as I feel we could see a major drop after earnings are reported. They could do a 2 for 1 split and get some bounce, but look at AMAT after it split. Read the AOL thread as there is potential for lots of bad news. If they make their earnings prediction for next year they will have a 100 PE. It could well hit $100 if the market conditions are right but you could miss a big drop by waiting to long.

Mike

Sam, I have not heard anything about an AOL split but one would make sense. In which case we should not short until after the split.
