50 years old 3.87

I assume you mean 387. I had a score of 322 in 07 and reduced it to 219 a year later. That's better than most do, but if you can slow down the growth and/or stop it, you will have to find something else to take you away.

Be optimistic and get your weight down to a BMI of 25 or less. Take enough fish oil to get 3000mg of Omega 3 a day. SloNiacin only at 500 mg to start, then 1000 mg a day. The most important supplement is Vitamin D. Take at least 6000 IU a day of D-3 in soft gels. You want to get your D-3 blood level above 60, the higher the better. You are shooting for a Lipid panel of 60/60/60.

The only one of the above that your Doctor will probably have any interest in is your weight. And he almost never sees anyone be successful in lowering it significantly. So don't be surprised if he is indifferent or negative about the above goals.

The information you need is listed in the articles in the header. Read the ones that fit you, ask questions here, and get to work.

Your job is to stop the plaque growth and keep your inflammation level below 1 as measured by a CRP test. There is nothing more important to you than your life.

If I am wrong and your score is really 3.87, don't get complacent. Without treatment, it goes up 35% a year. Multiply that out ten years and it will scare the hell out of you.
