The UMWA supports Obama and Obama is trying to kill the coal industry.

There are approximately 120,000 people employed by coal mines
msha.gov

This doesn't include those employed by rail companies servicing the coal industry or by those working at coal fired power plants.

There are another 255,000 employed in non coal mines
msha.gov

At the very least, Obama is trying to make 1/3 of the UMWA's members unemployed. The bozos behind the Rahall bill are looking to put 100% of the UMWA's members out of work.

If ever there was a time that the Union, workers and operators of mines should ban together, this is it. And it should be against Obama and the democrats in general.

Being pro-union means nothing if there is nobody left to be in the union.

Mines are generally in remote areas....places where there is no alternative industry. These people will starve.
