Friday October 24 1:36 PM EDT AMEX to Trade Options on ATMI,
NEW YORK, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange today announced it will
trade options on the over-the-counter stocks of ATMI Inc. (stock/option symbol: ATMID/ASQ),
) beginning Friday, October 31.

ATMI Inc., based in Danbury, Connecticut, provides environmental equipment and semiconductor
materials.

ASQ will open with strike prices of 30, 35 and 40, with position limits of 4,500 contracts. Initial
expiration months will be November and December of 1997, March and June of 1998. The
specialist unit for the new options will be Charlton, Goin, SLK.

Mike, this stock moves up dramatically with any significant buying pressure -- e.g. a large block purchase around 2pm today. no one wanting to sell. unless the broader market turns sour again, i think ATMI will be at 35 by close on Friday.
