I want to order a Hummer for then. You won't. A Hummer will be a piece of shit compared to the electric cars. No acceleration, twice the maintenance, less range, considered disgusting by your friends.

50 cents per barrel of oil would be disastrous in the short or mid term. I want oil to sell at $300 per barrel the next 20 years. Then, demand destruction will reach a permanent turning point. Probably much sooner than that, I'd imagine. Can you imagine a poor Middle East? One where Islamic terrorists don't get a whole lot of funding? I can and I like the idea. Can you imagine a rich US that invented most of the new energy sources the world uses and one where we own most of the patents and royalties from those patents? I can and I like the idea.
