Every industry has lobbyists. They're necesary to protect themselves from adverse government actions. The bigger, more powerful and more active the government becomes, the more lobbyists are necessary. And the "clean" energy companies, ethanol industry (see ADM), and those industries who look forward to getting shares of government spending on such "clean energy", are not second fiddlers on lobbying to anyone.
