I have many friends who live in R.I., its a great place to visit, and the shore at Narragansett is by far the best on east coast for beach. The issue is tax structure and union control. I almost bought several investment properties near Brown until I saw the property tax increase's over the last 10 years, they have more then doubled and on the property I was looking at a 12 unit bldg, they had gone from $6500 in 1996 to $24000 in 2007.

Just could not believe property owners pay that much to Govt., makes zero sense from investor perspective to go anywhere near R.I. I have been looking for waterfront lots for several years in Narragansett but still out of whack.
