Re: "lowest level yet"

... Or, it's not. <GGG>

Rassmussen may be a bit of an outlier here. The 'negative' number they report is FULLY 16 points higher then Gallup's reported number... and significantly higher also then the other FIVE major national polls... while their 'positive' numbers are at the low end of the average reported range (high fifties to high sixties...), but still within spitting distance of the six polls' reported numbers.

Personally, I'm sticking with the *AVERAGE* of ALL the major national polls (RealClearPolitics shows a nice rolling average of all the big polls), and NOT getting overly hung-up on any *one* pollster's numbers... or on the notoriously 'jumpy' DAILY poll samples (which - because they have a different sample every single day - tend to bounce a lot day-to-day based on normal fluctuations in the samples....)

Also... Rassmussen is the only major pollster who was projecting a McCain win just ONE WEEK before the Fall election (and we all know how that turned out), so they may just have a bit of a 'sampling problem' to deal with in their polling methodology....

But, hey, Peter... if Rassmussen is your favorite brand of Cool Aid I say "more power to you!"

Drink up! And, enjoy!
