With many markets poised to grow in the 15-18% range, INTC at a 97 pe of about 21 is a great buy.

Paul,
You're giving Metz too much credit <G>. He's been talking bear for a lot more than 2 1/2 years and talking up gold for many years as well. I've always wondered how he's kept his job as Chief Strategist at Oppenheimer and Co. Once and a while I agree with him..for instance in lieu of S.E. Asia I doubt Greenspan will hike rates in the next 3-4 months.
I believe Elaine G. turned bullish about a year ago after turning bearish at the wrong time. At least she changed her mind. <G>

Paul Re your post on M. Metz, Oppenheimer gloom and doom analyst.
if i remember correctly he, and a similar bear, Charles Clough, chief market analyst at Merrill - Lynch were removed from (Microsofft's?, Bloomberg's?, list of the US top 10 analysts; Abby Joseph Cohen is still in it, and she predcicts a 10-125 gowth next year, with volatility.
My own feeling is that the Market DOES NOT KNOW Hong Kong:
This is NOT Thailand, or Malaysia were Govements print devaluable money X last 13 years helter skelter causing current deflation.
Thay've had a Money Board for last 20 + years that tells the goverment
to print 7 Hong Kong dollars only when 1 US $ is deposited in the Hong kong Bank thus pegging the Hong K economy to the US Dollar!! They have 0 debt, and one of the highest per capita incomes and fastest growth economies AND lowest tax rates. They have US $ 80 BILLION!!!!
deposited in the Hong K Bank as deposits.
I believe money short sellers are trying to bite on a steel chocolate slab!! and they will soon find out.
Mon and tues may be weak, but as the world realizes that Hong Kong is still standing, gg , markets will roar back the rest of the week.
As far as INTC, I bought heavy last 2 days. This is a fire sale.
Those dreaming about AMD remember:
Chip factories: INTC 13 AMD 1.
Annual Sales :INTC 18 Bill, ONE QUARTER OF HONG KONG BANKS' reserves!!!
AMD 500 mill ( I think ).
Next generation microprocessor: INTC Mereced ( read the Fortune article).
AMD none.
Tne ONLY reason IMHO INTC didn't slash P1 prices to supply < $1000 computers is because they don't want to be accused by Justice again of anti competitive practices.

INTCW at 75 in 1 month and 100 by excercise time Mar '98? Right on!! And I'll be there trading and surfin', < GGG >!!!.

Humble Carl, er I mean humble TA, gg.
