I don't see how 'socialism' answers the question. Military operations are likely to continue, and our internal conflicts have been brought on more because we lack sufficiently definitive terminology than because we have extra. This is even more problematic as our circumstance changes.

You can say 'out with the old' but in a dynamic situation you must have effectively new forms to carry the load. When the US military captures a mercenary enemy who is intent on using deadly force, how do you propose we classify that prisoner? Or should we just have a catch, disarm and release system?
