Yes, that struck me as crazy as well, for this reason.

AIG was technically bankrupt. So, AIG should be addressed as though it were bankrupt. If AIG had closed it doors, how would bonuses have been dealt with??

And I think our government must let the American people know what is going on.

This is not communist Russia for gods sake.

Does anyone else find this hilarious??? A company that wrote billions of dollars in insurance with nothing to back it up which most would consider "binding legal obligations with serious business consequences"!

Some of the things that come out of those involved in this debacle are truly amazing!
