Oops. You are correct. Bush increased our national debt by $5 trillion. Is that a small number? Last I checked, it was an appallingly high number. And given that the GOP tries to sell themselves as fiscal conservative, it is downright shameful.

As far as the Iraq war, I wonder if your estimate accounts for the cost of veteran care and lost wages they would have earned throughout their life, if they weren't totally screwed up from the horrors of war and multiple tours of duty? The economic cost to the US is far more than what you think it is.
