[Off-topic] Hitch, I'd suggest starting with the classic "Technical Analysis of Stock Trends" by Edwards & McGee. This will give you a good sound basis in trends, support and resistance, chart patterns, etc. It will NOT tell you anything about the more "modern" (last 15-20 years) techniques that are based on momentum, stochastics, and relative strength. I don't really have a suggestion for a good introduction to those - :The New Technical Trader by Tushar Chande and Stanley Kroll is, I suppose the bible for that, but it is rather technical. Edwards & McGee, though, is "must read" for everyone. I especially like how they go into the psychology of the chart patterns.
