I had my tonsils out when I was 17. The doctor preyed on my teenage vanity since I was already bristling at the thought of being in the children's ward.

He convinced me to have the procedure under a local.

The nurse felt sorry for me so she put a towel around my eyes.
I was pretty much seated in what looked like an oversized dentist chair.

The procedure started with shots down my throat (something that wasn't mentioned before).

It was not one of my most fun afternoons......

Thanks for the update. Those bone grafts are expensive. I think clinical bone cost more than gold..... I'm afraid I'm going to need one of those too.

but I have two friends who went thru the same thing and were totally knocked out.

Just wake me up when the whole process is over ....<g>

How long did it take for them to do the graft and the metal post?
