The phrase "Never forget" comes to mind.

And never ignore, never dismiss as well.

...it's the only defense against depredation like that. And particularly since a number of Holocaust surivors, like Elie Wiesel,had their personal accounts in retirement destroyed by Madoff. It boggles the mind, the amount of suffering some people face.
