Steve your opinion please

How does UUNET provide xDSL service?
As a result of the Telecom Act of 1996, and through independently negotiated contracts with Regional Bell Holding Companies, WorldCom receives access to an element called the "local loop". The local loop is that length of copper that connects a customer to an RBOC's main switching center. WorldCom has invested a great deal of money to rent space on the floors of approximately 200 strategically located RBOC switching centers across the country, allowing us to serve a vast number of business customers. We then places xDSL equipment specifically designed for UUNET in those switching centers and cross-connects copper wires from the customer into UUNET xDSL equipment. Data sent over those wires and aggregated on UUNET xDSL equipment is then transferred onto WorldCom's high quality fiber optic local network and from there is routed to UUNET facilities. Since UUNET maintains the world's largest commercial Internet backbone, WorldCom is the first company to offer Internet connectivity that is managed by one company from end to end.

What service is UUNET offering with xDSL technology?
UUNET will be offering dedicated end-to-end connections to the Internet at speeds from 128 kbps to 768 kbps using xDSL technology.
